The King James Bible Is A Big Deal

By David J. Stewart | May 2012

Psalm 138:2, “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

An apostate pastor not too long ago said, “What's the big deal?,” concerning the inspiration of the King James Bible. He said, “Why fight over such a trifle matter, we all believe the Bible, right?”

What's the big deal? The Bible tells us in Psalm 138:2 that God magnifies His Word above all His name. That is a shocking statement. The Bible says in Philippians 2:9-10 that there is no name greater than the name of Jesus. Philippians 2:9-10, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.” Yet, the Bible tells us that God has magnified His Word above the name of Jesus, which is the highest name in the universe. God's Word is a BIG DEAL!

God is the Author of the Bible. God chose unholy men and made them holy to pen His Word. Please read, HOW WE GOT GOD'S WORD. Men were mere pens in the hand of the Author. The Word “inspired” simply means that God gave us the Bible. The word inspired here is the Greek word theopneustos means divinely breathed. God gave us His inspired Words and then He preserved those Words unto every generation, meaning perpetual inspiration.

In the Bible, men did NOT write down their opinions. 2nd Peter 1:21, “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” God is the divine Author and sinful men made holy were the pens. Thus, God's Words are inspired and always will be.

The King James Bible is inspired, because God's Words are inspired. The translation is not inspired, nor the English language; but rather, God's Words are inspired. God never inspired a language. God's Words were inspired in Heaven before He ever gave the first Word to Moses. God never inspired a particular translation. No, God inspired His Words. Job 32:8, “But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.” Job 32:8 defines inspiration. THE BATTLE FOR GOD'S WORD!

God allowed the children of Israel to go hungry in the Wilderness before He fed them, to TEACH THEM that men need to live by the Word of God and not bread alone...

Deuteronomy 8:3, “And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.”

The great sin of the world prior to the flood of Noah's day was eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marrying; but they couldn't have cared less about the Words of God. Jesus prophesied that the world in the End Times will once again return to the woeful condition of the world as it was in Noah's time (Matthew 24:37-39). 2nd Timothy 3:1-5 paints a dreadful picture of men in the Last Days. We are certainly approaching these perilous times of wickedness and apostasy.

The Bible came from God. The biggest battle that we face today as Christians is over the inspiration of the Bible itself. The most recent attack from Satan is the claim that only the originals are inspired, but not the translations from the originals. The truth is that God's Words have always been inspired, and always will be, no matter what language they are translated into.

“I would not give, knowingly, one thin dime to a college that does not believe in the verbal inspiration of this Book I hold tonight.” Pastor Jack Hyles, from the timeless sermon, “YOU MUST GO THROUGH ARABIA; preached October 11, 1981
