Lordship Salvation
By David J. Stewart
The New International Version [NIV] of the Bible is a deadly corruption of the Scriptures. I don't know of one church whose pastor uses the NIV that doesn't teach the Lordship Salvation heresy. I recently attended a Baptist church whose official doctrinal statement under the heading, ASSURANCE AND ENDURANCE, states: “We believe that those who abide in Christ have the assurance of salvation.”
That is a false gospel. Romans 4:5 plainly
states: “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that
justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
The Bible doesn't teach anything about “enduring” in order to have assurance
of salvation. If one were required to endure, i.e., abide in Christ, to be
assured of salvation, then at what point of failing to endure would someone
lose their assurance? The entire notion of having to endure in one's faith
to be assured of salvation is rooted in works salvation and
self-righteousness. This is pure Lordship Salvation of the worst
kind.
The Heresy of "Lordship Salvation" is Rooted in the NIV
The NIV teaches the damnable heresy of Lordship Salvation. The NIV has produced a generation of Lordship Salvationists who errantly believe that a person cannot be saved without making Jesus Lord. Here's Romans 10:9 from the King James Bible . . .
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
Now here's Romans 10:9 from the perverted NIV . . .
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
The Bible never requires us to make Jesus our "Lord" to be saved, only trust Him as our Savior (John 14:6). Peter shows clear evidence of this when he professed, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" in Matthew 16:16. Peter never confessed "Jesus is Lord." Rather, Peter received Jesus as the Messiah. Genesis 15:6 simply states that Abraham, "...believed in the LORD; and he (God) counted it to him for righteousness." Romans 4:5 plainly states, "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." It is our faith upon Jesus as our Savior, because of the blood that He shed for our sins, that saves us (1st Peter 1:18,19). Surrendering to Christ as the Lord of one's life is a matter of Christian obedience; NOT Salvation. If one had to surrender to Jesus as the Lord of their life to be saved, then Lot, Samson, Jonah, and Solomon would all be in Hell today. What about Ananias and Sapphira? What about the carnal Believers at Corinth? What about 1st Corinthians 3:15 . . . "If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." This man lost everything at the Judgment Seat of Christ accept his salvation. Obviously he had never committed his life to serve God. He wasted his life in sin and messed up so bad that he received NO REWARDS at all on Judgment Day (2nd Corinthians 5:10). This just proves the foolishness of Lordship Salvation.
I plead with you, whoever you may
be, place your NIV into the nearest garbage pail and go get yourself a King James Bible. Everyone I meet nowadays who is doctrinally messed up
is using an NIV bible. If someone tells you that they don't believe in a
Pretribulation Rapture, guaranteed, they are using an NIV bible (or some
other corrupted modern version like the English Standard Version).
The NIV Brutally Attacks Jesus' Deity
I recently received a letter from a man who quoted to me Philippians 2:6 from the NIV to claim that Jesus was not the manifestation of the Godhead. Here's Philippians 2:6 from the King James Bible . . .
"Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God."
Now here's the damnable NIV . . .
"Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped."
Do you see why so many people are being deceived by Satan nowadays? It is obvious to the faithful Christian who is awake to righteousness. If I had my way, I would burn every New International Version of the Bible in existence! I would burn every copy of Today's International Version as well. I would burn every copy of the corrupted New King James Version. In fact, I would burn every perverted Bible out there, including the Living Bible and Good News for Modern Man. I would burn the Revised Standard Version. God only wrote one book folks! Matthew 4:4 commands us to live by "every word" of the Bible. To do that we must have an "every word" Bible.
We have God's preserved Word in the 1611 King James Bible in the English language, which has been tested and proven to be trustworthy over the centuries. If Dwight L. Moody, Billy Sunday and Harry Ironside used the King James Bible, which was over 300 years old in their time, to win millions of lost souls to Jesus Christ, then it is still trustworthy for Christians today.
