What a precious truth! What a privilege it is to be called a "child of God."
Amen! We read in John 1:12, "But as many as received him, to them gave he
power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."
This is the way of salvation, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Here it is said
in John 1:12 that the way to be saved is to RECEIVE HIM, i.e., to receive
Jesus Christ by believing on His name. I am so glad that God has made
salvation simple and easy and free. Mankind complicates things, making
salvation difficult and burdensome, mandating all sorts of religious
requirements; but the Bible simply tells us to BELIEVE ON HIS NAME and in so
doing we RECEIVE HIM. Amen and amen!
Romans 8:14, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." As believers, we are led by the Holy Spirit of God. The unsaved, i.e., the children of the Devil, are led by Satan (Ephesians 2:2; 2nd Corinthians 4:4). I read last year that the famous song writer and guitarist, Carlos Santana, has been communicating with a demon named Metatron, since 1994. As bizarre as it sounds, this is not unusual at all, for the Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:2 that Satan is "the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience." And conversely, it is the Spirit of Christ that worketh in us as God's children. Ephesians 3:20, "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." Notice those words, "the power that worketh in us." That is the power of the Holy Spirit of God. Only a genuinely born-again believer has God's Holy Spirit. Romans 8:9b, "Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." Whereas a demonic spirit works through Carlos Santana to produce demonic music; the Spirit of God works through me to produce this Christian website. Every person is either led by God's Spirit or by Satan's spirit. This is why I often say that the wicked are "of the Devil," because they are being led by a demonic spirit. American society today is saturated with demonic influences.
Philippians 2:15, "That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world." We are living in a crooked and perverse society in America. There is temptation all around us. Everywhere we turn we see sin being glorified—sins that destroy lives and break apart families. It's frustrating living as a Bible-believing, Christ-honoring Christian in the midst of such wickedness, where we are often unjustly accused of being hatemongers and religious hypocrites. The sinful world has much contempt and intolerance for the absolute Final Authority of God's Word. Praise God! We are the children of God who have believed on Jesus' name for salvation, and we shine as bright lights in this dreary world of darkness. Even so come Lord Jesus!
We ought to love one another, because the world will hate us, and we need each other's love and tenderness as Christians...
"These things I command you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. (John 15:17-21).
There is so much hatred in the world today. Satan is destroying so many families and churches. God's children need to stick together and help each other. We are the sons of God.
We are not worthy to be called the "sons of God," but by Jesus' blood sacrifice we have been redeemed from the curse of the Law and made part of God's family through faith in Christ Jesus. 1st John 3:1, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not." 1st Peter 1:18,19, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." Amen!
