Sermons By Pastor Tom Malone
Ecclesiastes 9:17, “The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools.”
Pastor Tom Malone (1915-2007) was converted and called to preach at the same moment! At an old-fashioned bench, the preacher took his tear-stained Bible and showed Tom Malone how to be saved. He accepted Christ then and there. Arising from his knees in the Isbell Methodist Church, Russellville, Alabama he shook the circuit pastor's hand; and this bashful 19 year old farm boy announced, "I know the Lord wants me to a preacher."
Backward, bashful, and broke, Tom borrowed five dollars, took what he could in a cardboard suitcase and left for Cleveland, Tennessee. Immediately upon arrival at Bob Jones College, Malone heard a truth that totally dominated his life and labors for the Lord ever after - soul winning! Mark it down: Malone began soul winning his first week in Bible college. And he has never lost the thirst for it, the thrill in it, nor the task of it since.
It is doubtful if young Malone ever dreamed of becoming the man he is today. He is now Doctor Tom Malone, is renowned in fundamental circles for his wise leadership and great preaching, is pastor emeritus of the large Emmanuel Baptist Church, Pontiac, Michigan, Founder and President of Midwestern Baptist Schools, and is eagerly sought as speaker in large Bible conferences from coast to coast.
