Dr.
Younce has been in the ministry for over 50 years, having been ordained in 1970. He is a
graduate of Florida Bible College and holds an earned Doctorate in Theology. He has
faithfully pastored churches in Ohio, Indiana, Florida, and Minnesota. He
is the founding pastor of Heritage Bible Church in Ohio and
Heritage Baptist Bible Church in Walnut Grove, Minnesota. He and
his wife, Marge, have made Walnut Grove their home since 1991.
Dr. Younce's ministry has always been motivated
by a caring evangelistic outreach. Thirty-six years of radio and
recently television, bear this out. Teaching is another characteristic
of Dr. Younce's ministry. This is evidenced by the many Bible Institute
courses he has taught over the years.
An active print ministry is
another part of Dr. Younce's efforts. He is the author of several
books, many articles, most of which can be found, bi-weekly, on the Web
Site, www.heritagebbc.com. Dr.
Younce's style of writing is Bible-centered, direct, and inspiring. He
“pulls no punches” to tickle the ears. He believes now, more than ever,
people need to know what the Bible says... and they need not to be deceived
by the “vain traditions of men!”
Truly, Dr. Max D. Younce is “America's greatest
unknown Bible scholar,” whose works rival those of famous fundamentalist
Bible theologians; such as, Dr. John R. Rice (1895-1980) and Dr. Oliver B.
Greene (1915-1976), to name a few. Thank God for Max Younce! It is my
purpose in publishing this article to share and promote the works of this
dear man of God. I am confident that Pastor Younce's books and sermons will
be as much of a spiritual blessing to you, as they have been for me over the
years. Thank God for Max Younce, a dear friend in the Lord!!!
I have often referred to Pastor Younce as “the Dr.
John R. Rice” of our generation, for his remarkable gift of teaching the
Bible. I cannot recommend enough that you read his books. I think it is a wonderful testimony of God's
grace, that a virtually unknown humble country preacher, in a small humble
church, in a small humble prairie town of 871 people, has been used so
greatly by God to make such a huge impact around the world. By the way,
their tiny but quaint town in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, is where the classic
TV series “Little House On The Prairie” was filmed. I thank God for Pastor
Younce's faithful ministry, for his dear family, and for the faithful
members at the Heritage Baptist Bible Church. My life has been greatly
blessed by God because of these dear folks. To God be the glory!

Dr. Max D. Younce (1935 -
2023) - Obituary
On August 11, 2023, at 4:45 PM, Pastor Max D. Younce
was called home to Heaven by his Savior Jesus Christ. Marjorie, his wife of
67 years was by his side. His passing culminates a fifty three year Ministry
of the Gospel in five churches, founder of two churches [Heritage Bible
Church, Madison, Ohio] and [Heritage Baptist Bible Church, Walnut Grove,
Minnesota] (1991-2023).
Pastor Younce is survived by two sons: Dr. Craig L.
Younce and his wife, Terri Matheson Younce; Douglas M. Younce and his wife,
Sue Ann Huelsman Younce. Grandchildren: Mrs. Jeremiah (Dr. Tara) Younce
Smith, Mrs. Matthew (Dr. Sara) Younce Stapleton, Dr. Craig W. Younce (Amy),
Nathan Hill, Mrs. Kayleb (Erin) Hill Arwood, Mr. and Mrs. James Owens, Mr.
and Mrs. Justin Owens: Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Younce (Lindsay), Jessalyn Younce
Guzman, Douglas Younce: Mrs. Jason (Shannon Younce) Graham, Ivory Younce,
Mrs. Geoffrey (Summer) Younce Ashcroft and many precious great
grandchildren. Dr. Younce was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Mansfield D. Younce, one son, Bradley Scott Younce, and two grandsons: Air
Force Tech Sgt. E6 Josh Owens, and Wynston Brynt Younce.
Dr. Younce was known for teaching Scripture. Spend
any time with him, and he would have explained to you, in detail, how to go
to Heaven. He has you read his favorite verse, John 3:16. “For God so loved
the world,” Does that include you?” He asks. “...That he gave his only
begotten Son,” “Do you celebrate Christmas?” Yes. That’s when Christ took on
human flesh. “How ‘bout Easter?” Yes. That’s when Christ died on the Cross
to pay for our sin, coming out of the grave three days, and nights later.”
If you believe He did that for you, He makes you two promises:
1. “...should not perish,” (You will not go to
Hell.)
2. “...but have everlasting life.” (You will
have everlasting life.)
