A Post-Tribulation Rapture Is Unscriptural

A Post-Tribulation Rapture Is Unscriptural And Unfounded In Scripture.

The word “post” means “after.” Here are some final thoughts which seal the fate of the philosophy of a Post-Tribulation Rapture. Follow with me as we look at some basic facts:

  1. All raptured Christians receive their glorified bodies (Romans 8:22,23; and 1st Corinthians 15:50-54).

  2. There are no children born to glorified bodies. (Matthew 22:23-30)

  3. All unsaved are cast into Hell before the 1,000 Year Kingdom Reign of Christ. (Revelation 19:11-21 and Matthew 25:41)

If the Rapture is post Tribulation, several problems arise with impossible solutions.

Where do the mortal bodies come from of those that are born during the Millennium and rebel at the conclusion of the Millennium? (Revelation 20:7-10). There would be no lost people alive to have children, so they cannot come from them. All of the saved have their glorified bodies. No children can be born to them as a result of a Post-Tribulation Rapture.

Remember; at the end of Christ's 1,000 Year Reign there are unbelievers who will give their allegiance to Satan in an attempt to defeat Christ. (Revelation 20:7-10). How would they get their human bodies? Placing the Rapture at the end of the Tribulation and the start of the Millennium makes an impossible situation.

At the Rapture all Christians have their glorified bodies, which do not produce human beings. All the lost are cast into Hell at the end of the Tribulation Period. Therefore, the philosophy of a Post-Tribulation Rapture is impossible.

The Post-Tribulation Rapture philosophy also leads to other false doctrines. Colossians 2:8 is God's warning concerning false teachers,

“Beware lest any man spoil you through PHILOSOPHY and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)

Note: If Post-Tribulation Rapture were true; then, the last generation alive would be the only generation in over 2,000 years since the Church Age began to have to go through the Tribulation. Then, we would have to conclude that God is not a fair God.

Note: If the Rapture occurs at the conclusion of the Tribulation; then, why are we not told to be praying for “that blessed hope and glorious appearing of that blessed tribulation!” Yet, the Word of God tells us, in Titus 2:13, that the Christian is to be,

“Looking for that BLESSED HOPE, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”

Most of the Bible students who ascribe to a Post-Tribulation Rapture run to Matthew 24:22, “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for THE ELECT'S SAKE those days shall be shortened.” They errantly use this Scripture as so-called “proof” of a Post-Tribulation Rapture, claiming that since “the elect” are mentioned, it is irrefutable evidence that Christians will go through the Tribulation. However, the only way that this false conclusion can be made is if one ignores the remainder of the Scriptures.

1,290 Days From The Abomination Of Desolation To Second Coming

One of the strongest arguments against a Post-Tribulation Rapture is found in Daniel 12:11...

Daniel 12:11, “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.”

The “Abomination of Desolation” is the event when the Antichrist stands up in the 3rd temple in Jerusalem (yet to be rebuilt) and proclaims himself as god (2nd Thessalonians 2:4), and the daily animal sacrifice is taken away (ceased). The Bible plainly teaches that from this event until the end of the Tribulation will be 1,290 days (or 3 1/2 years).

Jesus warned about this event in Matthew 24:15...

Matthew 24:15-16 and 22, “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains ... And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.”

Now the Lord specifically teaches that NO MAN knoweth the time of His return...

Mark 13:32-33 and 37, “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. ... And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”

Clearly the teaching of a Post-Tribulation Rapture causes a big problem here and completely contradicts the Bible. Everyone would know beyond any shadow-of-a-doubt that from the time that the Antichrist claims to be god from Jerusalem's temple, there are exactly 3 1/2 years remaining until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Daniel 12:11 makes this very plain.

Daniel 9:27 also teaches about the Abomination of Desolation, which occurs half-way through the Tribulation Period...

Daniel 9:27, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

And here's even another Scripture in Daniel 11:31 concerning the Abomination of Desolation...

Daniel 11:31, “And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.”

It's amazing how much prophecy the Bible contains. Few people realize that one-third of the Bible is prophecy. In the Muslim Koran (or Quran), there are NO prophecies (none whatsoever). This is further evidence that the Bible is God's inspired Word, and the Koran is not.

So where do the elect (the saved people) come from during the Tribulation? Notice in Matthew 24:14 that Jesus said the Gospel must be preached in all the whole world before the end comes...

Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

God will raise up 144,000 Jewish soul-winners, who are redeemed at the onset of the Tribulation...

Revelation 14:3, “And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.”

After thousands of years of not fulfilling their divine mandate to evangelize the world—a large number of Jews will repent and believe the Gospel when they see that the Rapture has occurred, and their temple is rebuilt, and the daily animal sacrifices are restored—thus, they will turn to God and they will preach the Gospel to all the world as God intended from the beginning. Many people will be saved (Revelation 7:9-14). Presently, God has turned to the Gentiles to provoke the Jews to jealousy (Romans 11:11).

This is the only conclusion that all the puzzle pieces fit, that is, a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. If you take the Bible at face-value, you can only conclude a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Every saint, dead or alive, will be raised up at the Pre-Tribulation Rapture in their glorified bodies, “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself” (Philippians 3:21).

1st John 3:2-3, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
