You Don't Have To Be Afraid to Die
By David J. Stewart | October 2017
Hebrews 9:27 and 10:31, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” ... “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
Psalms 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” Many people are terrified of dying. In general, younger people tend not to give death much thought. They are still young, after all, having their entire lives ahead of them, so it would seem. But my friend, death does not discriminate. A moving automobile is a deadly weapon to people of all ages. The way people drive scares me! So many people today are texting when they ought to be driving.
Countless unsuspecting people have met an untimely death, sadly because someone was texting or playing with some electronic gadget and not paying attention to the road. When I drive, I always pretend that it is my first time behind the wheel. I pay attention to the road, because one thing that I have learned in life, is to expect the unexpected!!! People often come out of nowhere, like a chicken trying to run across the road. By the way, the driver ALWAYS has the responsibility to look out for pedestrians! Pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way.
Life is short. Proverbs 27:1, “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Today could quite literally be the last day of your life. As I was walking into a local grocery store the other day, I read the front headline of a local neighborhood newspaper. I was sad to read about a woman who was killed the night before. She was sitting at a red light, waiting for the light to change, and a car plowed into her from the back so hard, that her neck was immediately broken and she died. DEATH OFTEN COMES WITHOUT WARNING. When it's your time to die, there is no escape! Make sure you are ready. Don't forget your Maker! Isaiah 51:13a, “And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth...”
By the grace of God, I am not afraid to die, because I know Jesus as my personal Savior. I trust Him with all my soul. I was eternally and gloriously saved at age 13. I love my blessed Savior!!!!!!! 1st Peter 1:8-9, “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” I feel so sorry for the hundreds of millions of people who have been perturbed by religion, seeing only the face of sinful religious men, but haven't yet seen the beauty, mercy, grace, truth, love, patience, long-suffering, goodness, joy and majesty of our great loving and omnipotent Creator, God almighty!!! WHAT A PRECIOUS SAVIOR!!!!!!! I would be afraid not to die!
I tell you the truth, today could be the last day of your life! I've been visiting a local Baptist church about an hour away from me. A prayer request was made in church last night for a 6-year-old boy who has a brain tumor, and his parents have been told that their son only has 6 months to live! I prayed for him today, for God to heal him if it be His will. We are so spoiled aren't we? The average American is selfish, conceited and quick to be offended. These are the works of the flesh! One of the most precious Scripture passages which I have committed to memory is Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” That's who I want to be, just like the Holy Spirit Who lives inside me. I love the Holy Spirit, Who indwells every born-again believer (1st Corinthians 3:16-17; Romans 8:9; 1st John 3:24)!!!
Do You See Jesus? I Do!
John 14:19, “Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.” I love that... BUT YE SEE ME!!! Jesus promised that WE WILL LIVE! Why? It is because HE LIVES!!! Because HE LIVES, I can face tomorrow!!! Amen. Jesus is our joy! He is our peace! Ephesians 2:14, “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.” Isn't that beautiful? JESUS IS OUR PEACE!!! I cannot encourage you enough to get into the Word of God. I particular like listening to Alexander Scourby read the King James Bible. I get so much out of listening to the Word of God. I hear these little things, truths, that God uses to speak to my heart. I carefully pay attention to what I am hearing. When I listen to the Scriptures, I feel energized.
The world cannot see Jesus, because they don't know Him. Do you realize how awesome this truth is? You do if you are a born-again believer. If you are unsaved, you haven't a clue of what I am saying. John 16:1-3, “These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.” Jesus foretold that unbelievers would persecute, prosecute and even murder Christians, thinking they are doing God's will, because THEY DON'T KNOW JESUS OR THE FATHER!!! Do you know my Jesus? Here's a pretty Gospel song of the same title.

BIBLE!”

sermon titled, “FABLES AND FAKE
HISTORY.”
Fear God, Not Dying
The Holy Bible never teaches for man to fear dying. Death is not something that needs to be feared. Albeit, the Scriptures do tell us to FEAR GOD. Matthew 10:28, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” 1st Corinthians 15:55-57, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” It is our own sins which bring the consequence of death. The LAW of God in the Old Testament is the nails in the unsaved man's coffin, sealing his fate in the Lake of Fire if he dies in his sins without Christ. The LAW condemns all men as guilty sinners in the sight of a holy God (Romans 3:19-20). Ah, but thanks be to God for God's wondrous mercy which brought GRACE to all men through faith in Jesus Christ, made possible by the blood of His cross. Colossians 1:20, “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” WE HAVE A PRECIOUS REDEEMER, JESUS CHRIST!!!
“May I say this morning, if you're not saved, God has a salvation so wonderful that words can't describe it. But once you receive that salvation, there's a joy so wonderful that no sound can describe it. And when you die in Christ and go to Heaven, you'll see a place that will make you speechless, because of its beauty and its joy. ”

Oh, my friend, I have unspeakable joy continually in my soul, knowing that I am 100% saved, irrevocably pardoned, eternally forgiven, knowing that all my sins have been washed away by the blood of His cross!!! WHAT A PRECIOUS SAVIOR!!! It is as simple as your faith in Christ. You can have an unspeakable, unsearchable and unchangeable salvation too!!!!!!! You don't have to fear death someday. Honestly, if I were to find out today that I only have 6 months to live, I would rejoice in the Lord that I am going home. I have a beautiful literal home waiting for me in Heaven. There are musical instruments waiting for me. The angels eat, and so will I.
Jesus raised up and ascended physically into Heaven. That means Heaven has to be a physical place, with a literal physical throne for Jesus to sit upon. Angels are physical beings. I don't claim to understand it all, I just know that Jesus ascended in a body, which means that He still exists somewhere in this universe this moment in a glorified body. Acts 1:9-11, “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” Amen!
Jesus Christ Died On a Cross, Was Buried and Bodily Resurrected. WHAT GOOD NEWS!!!
One of the requirements to be saved is to believe that Jesus resurrected bodily (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). This is “THE GOSPEL” by which we are saved if we believe (trust) in it (Romans 1:16; 1st Corinthians 1:21). The demonic Jehovah's Witness religious cult deny Christ's bodily resurrection! JW's teach that Jesus merely raised up in spirit, and not physically. They teach that Christ's spirit returned in the early 20th century, which they say is evidenced by World Wars I and II. NONSENSE!!! The Word of God teaches that JESUS RAISED UP BODILY, and was seen by over 500 people at one time (1st Corinthians 15:6). There is more historical evidence concerning the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, than there is that a man named Julius Caesar ever lived! Folks, Jesus' tomb is empty!!! Muhammad is still in his grave. Buddha is still in his grave. Zoroaster is still in his grave. Jesus' grave is vacant! CHRIST IS RISEN, THE HOPE OF GLORY!!!
Every false religion teaches that its followers MUST DO SOMETHING to have eternal life. In sharp contrast, Christianity plainly teaches the opposite, to abandon all human effort and rest (trust) completely in WHAT CHRIST DID on the cross to pay for our sins. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved, He will only save those who are trusting to be saved!!! Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
If you have received God's free gift of forgiveness of sins and eternal life, by faith alone in Jesus Christ, then you have nothing to fear as far as Hell is concerned. Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” No born-again believer can ever be damned to Hell. No believer need ever fear of being judged at The Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). However, Christians still have cause to fear God, if we live in disobedience and bring reproach upon the name of Christ. 2nd Corinthians 5:10-11, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.” This latter passage of Scripture warns of the coming judgment for every believer, the time when we must give account for OUR WORKS, NOT OUR SINS!!! Christ paid for our sins on the cross with His blood, so they are as far gone as the east is from the west (i.e., they never meet together). Psalms 103, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
Unspeakable, Unsearchable, Unchangeable
1st Peter 1:7-9, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” Yes, that is so true! Every truly born-again believer has an unspeakable joy in our soul, loving Him in Whom we have believed (trusted)!!! Luke 10:20, “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” There is no greater joy, nothing that can even compare, to the peace and unspeakable joy of KNOWING that my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
If you don't know 100% that you are eternally forgiven and saved in Christ Jesus, it is only because you still fail to grasp the clarity and simplicity of the Gospel. If you are still struggling, I highly recommend reading Michael P. Bowen's book, “I NEVER KNEW YOU.” I strongly recommend getting a hard copy. I keep one in my car, which I read each time I do my laundry. Reading an actual book, as verses reading a .PDF file online, is like the difference between driving a car verses looking at a picture of a car. Do yourself a big favor, as I did, GET THE BOOK!!! You're far less likely to read a computer file than an actual book. I'm old fashioned, I like BOOKS! God does too... Revelation 20:12b, “and the books were opened.”
My dear friend, you can have an unspeakable gift from God, eternal life. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” You can have the unspeakable joy of Christ (1st Peter 1:7-9). You can have an unspeakable home in Heaven (John 14:1-2). You can have an unsearchable book and the riches of grace. Romans 11:33, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” Ephesians 3:8, “Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.” What precious truths!!! You can have an unchangeable salvation through faith in our blessed Lord Jesus Christ. IT IS ALL A GIFT. It's not an unspeakable “reward,” it's an unspeakable “gift.” 2nd Corinthians 9:15, “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.” JESUS IS PRECIOUS!!!!!!!
Psalms 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”
