The Abomination Of Desolation

Matthew 24:15, “When ye therefore shall see
the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION,
spoken of by Daniel the prophet,
stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)”
The Abomination of Desolation... Only 3 1/2 Years Until the Second Coming!
The Bible is very plain concerning the Pretribulation Rapture if we consider the “ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION” spoken by Daniel the prophet...Matthew 24:15, “When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)”
The “ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION” is the event when the Antichrist will declare himself to be god from the temple in Jerusalem. The daily sacrifice will cease. Obviously this means that another temple must be rebuilt in Jerusalem. This first temple (built by king Solomon) was destroyed by Babylon in 586 BC. The second temple built by Zerubbabel in 515 BC was destroyed in 70 AD by Rome. Herod greatly renovated the second temple beginning in 19 BC. 10,000 skilled laborers did the renovation. Muslims control the Temple Mount today, where the temple once stood. For more detailed information, please read, THE REBUILT TEMPLE.
There have been plans and preparations to rebuild the temple for decades. In fact, everything is waiting ready to go—even the priests have been trained to perform the daily sacrifices. All that remains is for the Temple Mount to become free once again to Israel. So what is holding things up? The Rapture, after which the Antichrist will be immediately revealed. A peace agreement will be made in the Middle East between the Antichrist and the Arab nations. John 2:20 says it took 46-years to build Nehemiah's temple, but the 3rd temple will be built within a few months I believe. Regardless, we know that the temple will exist during the Tribulation.
So the “ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION” will be when the Antichrist commits the abomination of claiming to be God, and he will make desolate the daily Jewish sacrifice and worship, showing himself to be the ultimate liar and fraud.
Here is what Daniel the prophet said:
Daniel 9:27, “And he (the Antichrist) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week (the 7-year Tribulation period) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease (this will happen in the future rebuilt temple in Jerusalem), and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
The woeful “abomination of desolation” will be, amongst other evils, when the peace agreement in the Middle East is broken, and the Antichrist from the temple in Jerusalem falsely declares himself to be God...
2nd Thessalonians 2:3, “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
The Antichrist will demand that the world worship “the IMAGE of the beast” or be killed. War will break out..
Revelation 13:15, “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
From this event, the “ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION,” it will be exactly 3 1/2 years until the Lord comes back at the SECOND COMING. How then can the return of Christ be as a thief in the night (1st Thessalonians 5:2), or at a time that we know not (Mark 13:32) as the Bible teaches? The only way for the Lord to return unnoticed is a Pretribulation rapture! It will be clear from the time of the Rapture, to those saved during the Tribulation Period, that the Second Coming is only 7-years from that time. And from the time of the Antichrist declaring to be God and demanding worship from the world, it will be only 3 1/2 more years until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
For these reasons and more, I don't see how anyone can genuinely believe in a Postribulation Rapture except those who are woefully ignorant of the Scriptures.
1,290 Days From The Abomination Of Desolation To Second Coming
One of the strongest arguments against a Post-Tribulation Rapture is found in Daniel 12:11...
Daniel 12:11, “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.”
The “Abomination of Desolation” is the event when the Antichrist stands up in the 3rd temple in Jerusalem (yet to be rebuilt) and proclaims himself as god (2nd Thessalonians 2:4), and the daily animal sacrifice is taken away (ceased). The Bible plainly teaches that from this event until the end of the Tribulation will be 1,290 days (or 3 1/2 years).
Jesus warned about this event in Matthew 24:15...
Matthew 24:15-16 and 22, “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains ... And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.”
Now the Lord specifically teaches that NO MAN knoweth the time of His return...
Mark 13:32-33 and 37, “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. ... And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
Clearly the teaching of a Post-Tribulation Rapture causes a big problem here and completely contradicts the Bible. Everyone would know beyond any shadow-of-a-doubt that from the time that the Antichrist claims to be god from Jerusalem's temple, there are exactly 3 1/2 years remaining until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Daniel 12:11 makes this very plain.
Daniel 9:27 also teaches about the Abomination of Desolation, which occurs half-way through the Tribulation Period...
Daniel 9:27, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
And here's even another Scripture in Daniel 11:31 concerning the Abomination of Desolation...
Daniel 11:31, “And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.”
It's amazing how much prophecy the Bible contains. Few people realize that one-third of the Bible is prophecy. In the Muslim Koran (or Quran), there are NO prophecies (none whatsoever). This is further evidence that the Bible is God's inspired Word, and the Koran is not.
So where do the elect (the saved people) come from during the Tribulation? Notice in Matthew 24:14 that Jesus said the Gospel must be preached in all the whole world before the end comes...
Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
God will raise up 144,000 Jewish soul-winners, who are redeemed at the onset of the Tribulation...
Revelation 14:3, “And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.”
After thousands of years of not fulfilling their divine mandate to evangelize the world—a large number of Jews will repent and believe the Gospel when they see that the Rapture has occurred, and their temple is rebuilt, and the daily animal sacrifices are restored—thus, they will turn to God and they will preach the Gospel to all the world as God intended from the beginning. Many people will be saved (Revelation 7:9-14). Presently, God has turned to the Gentiles to provoke the Jews to jealousy (Romans 11:11).
This is the only conclusion that all the puzzle pieces fit, that is, a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. If you take the Bible at face-value, you can only conclude a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Every saint, dead or alive, will be raised up at the Pre-Tribulation Rapture in their glorified bodies, “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself” (Philippians 3:21).
1st John 3:2-3, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
All Believers Will Be “CAUGHT UP” When the Lord Returns
1st Thessalonians 4:17 plainly teaches that all believers, the dead first and then the living, will be “CAUGHT UP” when the Lord returns. This is exactly what the word “Rapture” means, although the word itself is not found in the Bible. Likewise the word “Trinity” is not found in the Bible, but the all-important Word “Godhead” most certainly is if you use the faithful King James Bible (Acts 17:29; Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9). All modern corrupted Bibles completely remove the word “Godhead,” and in so doing commit woeful injustice against the inspired Word of God.
After the 7-year Tribulation Period, the Lord is going to return to the earth, at the Second Coming. The Lord is going to remove the Church away from the earth at the Rapture; but the Lord will return WITH all the saints at the Second Coming.
An easy way to remember this truth is this:
The Lord...
came TO HIS OWN 2,000 years ago.
is coming FOR HIS OWN at the Rapture.
is coming WITH HIS OWN at the Second Coming.
May I say friend, if you have never been born-again by the Spirit of God, then you will not receive a glorified body when the Lord returns. In fact, you will be left behind to suffer the wrath of God poured out upon the earth in the Tribulation. Billions of people will die in the last 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation, Biblical referred to a time of “Great Tribulation” (Matthew 24:21).
Will You Be Left Behind?
Whether you die before, during, or at the end of the Tribulation, if you are not saved God will punish you in Hell for ever. You will also receive some form of body, but it won't be a body fashioned like unto the glorious body of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said to “fear him which is able to destroy both soul AND BODY IN HELL.” The wicked will be given bodies that can withstand the extremely hot fires of molten sulfur in Hell, suffering in excruciating physical pain, yet your body will not be consumed in the flames. What a horrible place to spend eternity!
One of the worst things about Hell the Bible says, will be knowing all that you could have had in the glory of the Lord's presence in Heaven for all eternity; but you chose to spend eternity in the torments of the Lake of Fire. Luke 13:28, “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and YOU YOURSELVES THRUST OUT.” 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9, “Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD, and FROM THE GLORY OF HIS POWER.” You'll endure an eternal nightmare in Hell, suffering in torments, having no rest day nor night, and you'll be completely forgotten about. Proverb 10:7, “...the name of the wicked shall rot.”
How will you feel knowing that you're burning in Hell, while others are enjoying themselves in the splendors of Heaven's riches, and you could have had it all for FREE? Is that what you want? Death is right around the corner for all of us my friend. This life is like a vapor that's here one second and gone the next. James 4:14, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? IT IS EVEN A VAPOUR, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: REPENT YE, AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL.”
1st Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
