The world is confused today about everything—religion, politics,
relationships, moral issues, the Bible, you name it! This is what Satan
wants. The Devil's primary goal is to deceive people, to prevent them from
coming to the truth of Christ Jesus to be saved. Jesus died to bring us the
truth. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
The truth is always shrouded in lies. The Bible says God does not cause confusion. Satan causes confusion as a means of blinding people so they won't get saved. 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
Satan blinds people with false teachings, false religion, evolution, humanism, and many other deceptions. The Devil knows that the best way to hinder people from getting saved is to confuse them. There are thousands of religions in the world. Religion is man doing something for God; but salvation is God doing something for man. Religion is a path to Hell, because it is rooted in one's own self-righteousness (Isaiah 64:6). Very few people are coming to Jesus Christ to be saved these days. Instead they are coming to religion, entertainment, social clubs, and manmade organizations. Salvation is found ONLY in a Person—the Lord Jesus Christ!
Satan's biggest deception today is the New Age concept that there are many different paths to God. New Agers believe that as long as you're sincere, then it doesn't really matter what religious path you take to the light. This is the light of Lucifer. Luciferianism worship is the religion of the New World Order. It is worship of the light, but they have the wrong light. The true and only Light is Jesus Christ (John 8:12). You'll hear many New Agers, occultists, and spiritualists all talk about the light; but the light they speak of is Lucifer (the Devil). The purpose of all this is to confuse everyone. Most people today are woefully confused.
Are you confused concerning the Scriptures? The Sadducees were confused concerning the resurrection. Matthew 22:29, “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” Most people today are confused about the Bible. Most people think totally backwards and wrong. The Bible is confusing to most people because they think backwards. The Devil has indoctrinated them with atheism, humanism, evolution, and worldly heathen thinking.
In sharp contrast, the Word of God plainly and adamantly teaches that there is only one way to Heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ (Acts 4:10-12; John 14:6). People are confused these days concerning which way leads to Heaven; but the Bible proclaims that there is ONLY one way home, and that is through Jesus the Savior.
1st Corinthians 2:14, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” The natural man is the unsaved man. By birth humanity is sinful, woefully ignorant, and cannot understand divine truth until they receive Jesus Christ. Every generation must rediscover the truth for itself. Until a person gets saved, i.e., born-again in Christ Jesus, they are hopelessly lost in this world. They will remain confused. Notice carefully that 1st Corinthians 2:14 says that the Bible is “FOOLISHNESS” to the unsaved person. THE TRUTH is foolishness to unsaved people. Thus, they are fools. Nearly everyone these days are total fools, openly participating in the Devil's Luciferian religion. They are easily identified because they think all religions are valid and lead to the light (which they mistake as the God of the Bible). They are confused.
You don't have to be confused. The first step to finding the truth is to receive Jesus Christ, Who is THE TRUTH (John 14:6). Jesus came into this world to SAVE SINNERS. John 1:12, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” There are so many people in this world who spend their lives seeking for knowledge and answers, but they go in circles... “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2nd Timothy 3:7). What an amazing statement! There are tens-of-millions of people in this sinful world who spend their entire lives reading, studying, observing, going to college, and asking questions in an attempt to learn; yet they NEVER come to the knowledge that really matters... THE TRUTH!!! There are so many intelligent and highly educated fools in this world, just as Romans 1:22 says, “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.” Christians are wise, for becoming as fools in Christ. What a paradox! We are fools for Christ!
Satan has duped billions of people with false religions, heathen principles, worldly philosophies, and false science. We are living in a society of fools. It's rare to meet someone nowadays who is a genuine born-again Christian, let alone someone who is knowledgeable concerning the Scriptures. Most people know everything about movies and music, but nothing about God. Jesus commanded for us to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES in John 5:39, but most professed Christians are more interested in watching TV and sports.
This world is confused and if we as Christians don't preach the Gospel and teach people, they will continue to be confused. Good Christians don't just happen; someone has to witness to lost sinners to get them saved, and then mentor new converts with the Scriptures. This is the two-fold Great Commission given by our Lord (Matthew 28:19-20). Most believers are sitting on their blessed assurance and don't care. I don't enjoy being critical of believers all the time. I'm glad for those who are saved. However, time is running out in this life and there's a big world of lost sinners, most of whom have never heard the simple truth of Jesus Christ crucified, buried, and risen (1st Corinthians 15:1-4).
God is NOT the author of confusion, Satan is. The context in which this Scripture is given in 1st Corinthians 14 concerns the false doctrine and heresy of speaking-in-tongues. The Apostle Paul rebuked the church at Corinth for the carnal practice of tongues speaking; but the truth that God does not author confusion is true in all other areas as well. Satan confuses people with ungodly advice (Psalm 1:1). What we need to do is anchor ourselves to the Word of God. There is great safety in the Scriptures to keep us from falling. No one needs to be confused concerning spiritual matters. 2nd Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
