Can a Follower of Christ Be Pro-choice?
By David J. Stewart | February 2018
Luke 14:27, “And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.”
Here is a question that one of my faithful web visitors asked:
QUESTION:
Actor Stephen Baldwin: "You can’t be pro-choice and call yourself a follower of Jesus Christ. Doesn’t go together." https://t.co/JlB3cFS74f
I agree with him because abortion is murder and the bible says murder is wrong. So to justify it is to call Jesus a liar and showing you don't believe he is really God because God don't lie.
So i think he is right what are your thoughts brother. Here is my reply to this good question:
ANSWER:
Thank you for visiting my website ministry, it means a lot to me.
I've always liked Stephen Baldwin's acting. I saw him in "Six: The Beast Unleashed," a religious film. I agree 100% with Stephen. You cannot be a follower of Jesus Christ and support abortion. But being a follower (or disciple) is not salvation. We are saved by faith alone in Christ. Eternal life is a free gift to anyone who wants it. I just uploaded this new article, with some great quotes from Dr. John R. Rice (1895-1980)...http://www.soulwinning.info/truth/feelings_and_the_new_birth.htm
Dr. John R. Rice says, "Salvation is not by feeling; it is by faith. It is not by seeking an experience, but by accepting a Person."
We must differentiate between sonship verses discipleship; between our position in Christ verses our condition in Christ. Here are some great quotes from men of God, which well shows the difference between trusting Christ, verses following Christ. ...http://www.jesusisprecious.org/false_doctrine/lordship_salvation/lordship.htm#gift
This is my favorite quote by Dr. M.R. Dehaan (1891-1965)...
"There is a vast difference between coming to Jesus for salvation and coming after Jesus for service. Coming to Christ makes one a believer, while coming after Christ makes one a disciple. All believers are not disciples. To become a believer one accepts the invitation of the Gospel, to be a disciple one obeys the challenge to a life of dedicated service and separation. Salvation comes through the sacrifice of Christ; discipleship comes only by sacrifice of self and surrender to His call for devoted service. Salvation is free, but discipleship involves paying the price of a separated walk. Salvation can't be lost because it depends upon God's faithfulness, but discipleship can be lost because it depends upon our faithfulness." DeHaan, M. R. Hebrews. Zondervan Publishing House, 1959 (p. 117).
So I believe that a person can be saved and support abortion; but there is no way any believer can call them self a "follower" of the Lord if they support murdering human life. John 15:14, "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." We don't have to be the Lord's friend to receive Him as our Savior, but it is certainly the right thing to do (Romans 12:1).
I hope that helps.
Thank you for allowing my website ministry to be a part of your life, I don't take it lightly.Psalms 90:9b and 12, "...we spend our years as a tale that is told. ... So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."
Proverbs 4:18, "But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day."
Ephesians 3:19, "And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."Have a good day.

“And brother, any time anybody ever casts any reflection upon the accuracy and the inspiration—verbal inspiration—of this Bible, I'll guarantee you he was inspired by the demons. I'll guarantee you! I don't care if he's got a 'reverend' in front of his name. I don't care if he has a clerical collar on. I don't care what school he's been to. I am appalled at the indifference amongst professed Christians today concerning the corrupting of God's Word. They just don't care which Bible is God's Word. I'm talking about thousands of shameful apostate religious colleges today, that are INDIFFERENT toward the hundreds of perverted English Bibles, all of which are the Devil's way of depriving people of the true and pure Word of God. Consequently, there are many false plans of salvations being taught in the churches today, mainly the heresy of manmade repentance, aka, Lordship Salvation.
